About the Tipsies

Quit lookin’ at our Jug!

We’re the Tipsy Moonshiners. A group of bocce playing girls that are as fun as our name suggests. Our team started with 10 coworkers who decided to start a team in what was then the Napa Valley Bocce Federation, we showed up to our first game in matching jerseys with nothing but a case of Coors Light and a box of CheezIts, but our mark was made with our first ever win that night. Four years later, the league is now run by the City of St. Helena, the park has more courts, more teams have joined the league, the Tipsies have added and lost players and our table spread has improved greatly, but our spirit is still the same. We are not the most creative foodies, the most distinct winos or the most competitive team, but we love playing bocce and other teams love playing against us. Now, don’t be fooled, just because we don’t have the best record doesn’t mean that the Tipsy Moonshiners can’t roll. As our tag line suggests, we are Unfiltered, Uncensored and Underestimated, we have been known to sneak one or two games away from some of the best teams in the league and we enjoy every moment of it.
